Since its foundation in 1985, the Escuela de Música Creativa has been a reference for jazz and modern-music teaching in Europe. Over the years, its constant commitment to pedagogical innovation, as well as its vast experience in areas including the management of municipal music schools, has generated a valuable know-how, which now comes to light in a new collection of teaching aids.
The Música Creativa Collection has been designed to provide music students with courseware allowing them to meet today’s educational challenges. Specifically, access to music education for increasingly wider sectors of the population and the needs of pupils whose interests include modern music (jazz, rock, pop, etc.).
These teaching aids incorporate new approaches to rhythm (systematically based on polyrhythm), the integration of pitch and harmony (American notation) and aural perception (a diversification of musical dictation systems). Yet, our main objective is to assist teachers in the development and application of new ideas about the relationship between learning and teaching; namely, helping students in the process of becoming aware of what they feel, hear, know or intuit, as well as building their knowledge critically and indepedently.
