HOUSING: BASTARDO HOSTEL

We’ve made a reservation for all incoming students at the Bastardo Hostel in Madrid, from Sunday, November 12th 2023 to Saturday, November 18th 2023.

If you would like to extend your accomodation booking, you will need to contact Bastardo Hostel and make a new booking with your preferences according to their fees.

The hostel is just a short 5-minute-walk away from Música Creativa and the Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza María Dolores Pradera, ideally located in Malasaña, very near from the historic city center. The neighborhood offers many different restaurants and supermarkets, all within a few minutes walk.

CENTRO SUPERIOR MÚSICA CREATIVA

Centro Superior Música Creativa is a private higher musical education institution authorized by the Community of Madrid. The quality of this institution is supported by more than 35 years of experience and the artistic vision of the Música Creativa brand, a pioneer in the teaching and dissemination of jazz and modern music in Madrid:

Centro Superior Música Creativa opened its doors in the 2016/2017 academic year with the aim of meeting the needs of those students interested in pursuing higher level musical education and starting their path towards professionalization within the jazz and modern music sector.

House of Europe ́s afternoon programme will be developed in the following locations:
– Auditorio Música Creativa. Address: C/ Dos de mayo, 5-7. 28004 Madrid.
– Divino Pastor (DP3 & DP4 Classrooms). Address: C/ Divino Pastor 7. 28004 Madrid.

The final concert takes place on Friday, 17th November 2023, at Tempo Audiophile Club. Located halfway between Plaza de España and the Liria Palace, this establishment became the first Audiophile club in Madrid, after its 2020 refurbishment. In addition to music concerts and Dj sessions, Tempo Audiophile Club offers a wide variety of cocktails and haute cuisine snacks, by David García (Head Chef at El Corral de la Morería, an iconic flamenco restaurant and show) and Iñaki Sanz de Larrechea.

Tempo Audiophile Club has two floors and four different atmospheres. At the entrance on the first floor, there is an area with tables. There is also a bar and a “Listening Room” designed to fully enjoy the sound and where conversations will be kept low to prioritise listening. The concert hall and disco are in the basement. It also has a terrace. The venue is located within 15 minutes walking distance from Bastardo Hostel.

Multi card

The Multi card is a multi-personal, reloadable, contactless public transport card which is valid for ten years that has to be used for taking the bus, metro or Cercanías.

Where can you get it?

Metro de Madrid and Metro Ligero ticket machines.
Multi Public Transport Cards can be purchased along with the ticket. The price of a Multi card is €2.50. You can buy it in the Airport or Metro stations.

What tickets can be loaded?

The following tickets can be loaded:
·Single Ticket valid for Metro, bus, Cercanías, Metro Ligero 1 and Metro Ligero Oeste.
·10-Journey Ticket valid for Metro, bus, Cercanías, Metro Ligero 1, Metro Ligero Oeste and city and intercity buses. If you expect to visit many different places during your week in Madrid, this would be the most suitable ticket for you.
· Airport Extra Charge is required to enter or exit the Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 or Aeropuerto T4 Stations when travelling on a Single or 10-Journey Ticket.
· Tourist Tickets.If you are going to take many metro trips on the same day, you will probably prefer a Tourist Ticket. Please note that Tourist Tickets are personal. Single Tickets and Airport Extra Charges, once loaded onto any card, must be used on the day of purchase and are considered valid until the end of service, not the end of the calendar day. If you attempt to use it the day after it was purchased, the turnstile readers don’t accept it because it has expired.
In order to orientate yourself in Madrid, we recommend using Google Maps. This app
gives you an overview of the available public transport options to get from point A to B.

Please be aware that the metro only operates from 6:00am until approximately 1:30am everyday. However, night buses are still available after that.

Centro de Salud Palma Norte. If you feel sick or have an injury that is not as intense to head the Hospital, this Health Center is the closest to Bastardo Hostel. It opens from 8am to 21pm from Monday to Friday.
